Douche of the Month

How does an insignificant, unimportant, boated oaf whose job it is to report the weather try to get attention? He makes a futile attempt at relevance by blogging about social activism. This of course would be fine, except that it took him a total of two months to shoot himself in his own doublewide foot. Meet the biggest hypocrite on television today…Al “are you gonna eat that last slice of pizza” Roker. This duplicitous ass felt very strongly about the firing of Don Imus for his now famous “Nappy Headed Ho” joke, which would also be perfectly acceptable if that is how he truly felt, and not just uttered as a self serving, attention getting rant at someone else’s expense…here are a few quotes about Imus from the rotund meteorologist:

AL ROKER

"I, for one, am really tired of the diatribes, the “humor” at others’ expense,
the cruelty that passes for “funny."

"Yet, Don Imus needs to be fired for what he said. And while we’re
at it, his
producer, Bernard McGuirk, needs to be canned as well. McGuirk is just as
                                                      guilty, often egging Imus on.
"

By the way Al, the term meteorologist doesn’t mean that you have to resemble an actual meteor. But that not withstanding, all of the above (and more) was written by Roker’s chubby little fingers in his “Not in My House” blog on his very own self-indulgent website…yet in early June he made this joke which amazingly some people found to be offensive:

"Remember that controversial Olympic logo for the 2012 Olympics in London? Some folks have complained that the campaign actually sent them into epileptic seizures. Well, we asked you to weigh in on our Web site in an informal poll; those of you who could get up off the floor after shaking around were able to actually log in . . . "

Roker’s fellow today show hosts Matt Lauer and Ann Curry could be heard yucking it up with their buddy Al about a condition where people’s brain’s going into seizure…They obviously thought it was funny. But to the over 3 million Americans who suffer from Epilepsy (not to mention their families) who may have experienced this joke as “cruel” (Al’s word) did it ever occur to them that THIS was the same type of humor at other people’s expense that caused Roker to petition for Imus’ firing? By his own logic, not only should HE be fired, but Lauer and Curry as well for “egging him on”. People die from epileptic seizures. Imus made a hair & sexual promiscuity joke.

Responding to the Imus apology, which included a face-to-face meeting with the Rutgers women’s Basketball team (who for no fault of their own found themselves at the expense of his failed attempt at humor), and a media tour in some very hostile environments expressing his remorse, the bloated Roker replied with the following:

"The “I’m a good person who said a bad thing” apology doesn’t cut it.

Don Imus should do the right thing and resign."

This would also be fine, except Roker issued the following semi-apology for his failed attempt at humor Although it’s extremely difficult to get this many things wrong in two sentences, this asshole still manages…

“We were joking about the logo - not about epilepsy. If anybody was offended, I heartily and really humbly apologize."

IF???? IF??? You stomach stapled fuckbag…IF????? Make no mistake AL, you dundering lummox; you DID offend people… approximately 3 million people, not to mention all of those who are offended by your duplicitous-ness.  Equally offensive is Roker’s unwillingness to admit that his joke WAS about epilepsy… “those of you who could get up off the floor after shaking around” has nothing to do with making fun of a fucking logo, yet this slug cowardly sidesteps accountability the way he should have avoided the buffet table.

Why wouldn’t Roker do the right thing then, and resign (his words)?  Why wouldn’t he call for the firing of Lauer and Curry as he did McGuirk? If Roker can’t summon the courage to do what he demanded of a 35-year talk veteran, why then wouldn’t NBC fire HIM as they did Imus?  Why aren’t the same standards applied? After all, they have the same employer…sorry, make that had.

Understand that I have no desire to see Roker, Lauer or Curry fired, just as I had no desire to see Imus fired, or for that matter anyone who says things that even I may find offensive. I am personally not a fan of anyone who has been mentioned in this article. This is not about that; it’s about this ONE Douche who wrote a “Not in My House” blog condemning others who behave in a manner in which he is (at least) equally guilty of. “Two epileptics walk into a bar”…hey, great stuff, hilarious in fact…I’m with ya on this one Al… Which reminds me of another great joke, an Aids patient, a stage 3 cancer victim and a Rabbi were in a boat…

Personally, I hope the next doughnut blubber boy eats makes a major artery explode, then, while he’s undulating on the floor some people can make a joke at his expense. I know I will, and it will be offensive…and funny. So hurry up and die Al, I need some fresh material.
