What is Richard Woods pissed off about this week?

Every once in a while I read something that infuriates me to the point that I want to do bodily harm to those responsible. Some things are so utterly unjust, that I feel violated and helpless because I an unable to do anything about it, and it sends me into a lather.

Such is the case with the imprisonment of a 20 year old young man named Genarlow Wilson, who is presently in the second year of a 10 year prison sentence for something he did when he was only 17. Did he commit grand theft, you may ask? Did he take a life? Was he selling illegal drugs? Was he delinquent in paying parking tickets? No. What the young Mr. Wilson is incarcerated for is something that every young, red blooded, heterosexual male has either done, or has wanted to do when they were a teenager. He got a blowjob.

This is not a fucking joke.

When Genarlow Wilson was 17 years old, he was at a New Year’s Eve party with his friends, and got a hummer from his 15 year old girlfriend. This was not only a consensual act, the girl even acknowledged being a willing participant. Although he was rightfully acquitted of the charge of Rape, he was convicted of the lesser crime of aggravated child molestation. Not only does charge this carry a mandatory 10 year prison term, once Wilson gets out of jail he will have to register as a sex offender everywhere he lives. So now a star athlete, homecoming king, and honor role student is having his life ruined. Is this justice?…Nah…it’s good ole’ Georgia law.

The more you read about this, the more fucked up and infuriating it becomes…

Georgia law is such that had Wilson and his girlfriend been engaging in intercourse, he would have only been charged with a misdemeanor…not only that, they have since passed a “Romeo and Juliet” law that would prevent such ridiculous prison terms for consensual underage sex, and not require for teens to have to register as sex offenders. They apparently responded to pressure over how ridiculous this law was, and took steps to correct it. Why then is Wilson still in jail? Well… that’s a good fucking question.

The fact that the Georgia Supreme Court denied a motion to reconsider this conviction, especially in light of the subsequent laws being passed, and existing ones being amended, stinks of old time racism.  Now if you know anything about me, and what I stand for, you know that I do not point the accusing finger of racism easily. In fact, I usually cringe whenever I hear African Americans…you know…black people… play the “race” card because frankly, I think that false claims of racism are often used for political gain and to mask the truth. People then become so desensitized to racism claims that when there are real injustices like this, they often go unnoticed. This is why we are taught to read the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf…Sometimes; there really is a fucking wolf.

These cock-suckers in the Georgia Supreme Court are all probably guilty of the same youthful indiscretions that they are destroying this young man’s life over, and if they weren’t, its only because they were such freaking losers in their teen years that no other high school girls wanted to smoke their poles. Do they not think their children are doing the same thing? Not one of them has the courage or conviction to be honest here…and it makes me wonder if they would hear the motion to reconsider if THEIR child was imprisoned for such a ludicrous offense. Wilson’s Mom has to spend every day of her life living with this. Jesus fucking Christ on a pogo stick this just sucks.

This type of hypocrisy is rage inspiring.

Personally…at 28 years old…after a decade in prison and having lost those irretrievable years…if Genarlow Wilson blew the brains of those responsible for this out of the back of their heads, and if I sat on the jury…I would acquit him in a heartbeat… Because THAT would be justice.
